IGNIS offers several base map styles and allows you to download sections for offline use. In this guide, we'll explore how to access the base maps section in the app and download maps for offline use.
Let's get started! Follow the directions below to change the base map and download sections for offline use.
- Tap the "Maps" button on the home screen.
- At the top of the screen, toggle to the "Base Maps" section.
- Here, you can choose different base maps, view downloaded sections of the base map, or download new areas for offline use!
- Click the orange button in the bottom right corner to download more sections of the base map for offline use.
- On the next screen, drag the map with your finger to the area to download.
- At the bottom of the screen, select the map style.
- To proceed, tap the orange arrow in the bottom right corner or swipe left to select the resolution detail.
- High-resolution maps offer better visual detail but cover smaller geographic areas.
- Low-resolution maps cover larger areas but with less detail.
- Swipe left again to name the map, and then tap download!
- The map will begin downloading and appear under the "Offline Base Maps" section. Once downloaded, click on the map name to view that area on the home screen!
